Founded in 2007 by Ar. Sanjay Sheladia, Studio Palisa is a design-led architecture and interior design practice based in Surat. We work across residential, commercial and hospitality commissions — every project shaped by the people who'll inhabit it, the place it sits in, and a careful, collaborative process.

Studio Palisa is led by Ar. Sanjay Sheladia. As Principal Architect, he directs every commission the studio takes on — from intimate residences to large hospitality projects — with a careful attention to context, material and detail.
A sculpted ceiling of crescent skylights bathes the inner stairwell in a quiet, lunar light. Petal-shaped voids drift across the slab so the day arrives as a slow, geometric drawing rather than direct glare — pendant lines fall through the openings like rain.

A double-height arrival court anchored by a single blossoming tree and a raised teak platform. Faceted ceiling cassettes — back-lit in soft green — fold over a wall of vertical timber battens, turning the lobby into a quiet, sculpted clearing inside the building.

A bronze figure stands quietly between kitchen and dining, holding the centre of the plan. Veined marble, a black geometric chandelier and a folding floral screen give each zone its own register — formal, domestic, ceremonial — without ever raising a wall.

A calm, neutral apartment where a single sweeping arch threads the dining and living rooms together. Fluted glass, ribbed timber and a marble oval table keep the palette warm — a small maroon accent on the sofa is the only note that raises its voice.

An interior courtyard built around a single tree and a deep oxblood mural. A timber deck floats over a planted bed; a swing rope falls from above. The room is open to the sky, but never to the noise of the street — air, light and shadow are the only visitors.

A multi-generational home where rooms reveal themselves slowly. A perforated stone screen filters the evening light into the lower terrace, while the upper volume cantilevers out — louvred, lit from beneath — over a quiet front garden of palms and gravel.

A formal dining room set against a wall of dark, book-matched stone. A glass-topped table on a walnut frame floats over Italian marble; an oversized roman-numeral clock holds the room together — a slow, deliberate centrepiece for a slow, deliberate house.
